Where to See Commerson's dolphins in Puerto Deseado

Best Time: November to March (though visible year-round)

Access: Access is exclusively via organized boat tours departing from Puerto Deseado's central port. Several local operators offer specialized excursions focusing on dolphin sightings. Parking is available near the port if you arrive by rental car.

Book tours in advance, especially during peak season. Choose smaller boats for more intimate encounters. Bring layers of clothing as it can be chilly on the water, even in summer. Keep your camera ready as these dolphins are incredibly fast.

Access: Boat tours to Isla Pingüino National Park also depart from Puerto Deseado's port. While the primary focus is the rockhopper penguins, Commerson's dolphins are frequently sighted accompanying the boats on the journey through the ría and out to sea.
